Born in Montreal, to the late Alexander and Gertrude (Hilborn) Alexander of Farnham, Quebec, Peter was the beloved husband of Sandra (Watt) of 59 years and cherished father of Ian (Tracy), Ottawa; Kerry, Vancouver and David, Ottawa. He was also the adored grandfather of Sophie, Natasha and Christian, and brother of Jane Christie. Peter’s formative years were spent in Farnham, he then attended the first class of the Collège Militaire Royal de Saint-Jean, Quebec (1955), followed by the Royal Military College of Canada, Kingston, Ontario (1958) and graduation from McGill University (1959) with a degree in electrical engineering. In 1976, employment with the Maritime Telephone and Telegraph Company led Peter and his family from Montreal to Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, where he fell in love with the South Shore, eventually building a home and retiring. Always ready to talk about cars or antique cameras, he was a kind and gentle man to his core, the sharpest part of him his being his wit. Although Peter will be greatly missed, we are comforted knowing that he will be with his most devoted four-legged companions - Dreyfus and Angus. A Celebration of Life will take place on January 21st 2023 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 49, 21 Pond Street, Mahone Bay. Donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Canada. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mahone Funeral Home, P.O. Box 200, 32 Parish St., Mahone Bay, NS B0J 2E0 (902-624-8241).
