Taken from emails from Al's widow Kathy, 2005-04-07. Al arrived at CMR de Saint-Jean in 1952 from NDG (Montreal). He completed CMR in 1955 and continued to RMC Kingston. After RMC he served in the RCAF until 1961, then joined Atomic Energy of Canada at Deep River, with four years at the Gentilly nuclear station in Trois-Rivières, Québec, then to AECL in Mississauga, where he worked until he retired. Al married Kathleen (Kathy) Healy of Montreal while stationed at St-Hubert. They raised six boys, of whom the eldest is currently in the military instructing at Borden and the youngest, Beau, has recently completed university in Commerce and Marketing and is hoping to find work in the banking industry. Al died in 1992 and is greatly missed by all the family. His mother and his youngest brother Raymond live in Île Bizard, in western Montreal. Al's brother Louis is not deceased, but lives in Sarnia, Ontario (coordinates not yet known). Kathy married John Bolus in 1998 and they live on Sunset Bay on Lake Muskoka near Port Carling, Ontario. John is currently fighting serious cancer. (Ed note: John died in May 2005.) |
