From: Terry Jones Sent: December 24, 2023 2:19 AM To: Bill Lynn Subject: Re: CMR 1952 Mise à jour / Update 2023.12.22 Hi again, Bill. I have to acknowledge that this year’s losses are thankfully small, although the total aggregate loss from our original 225 is certainly not terribly encouraging, is it? My move from Richmond to Salmon Arm, in addition to rejoining me with the proverbial ‘love of my life’, has completely changed my medical support, removing me from probably the second or third best centre of medical expertise in Canada to a much more limited capability, nonetheless populated with a surprisingly adequate body of professionals and facilities. My own GP is a mature, experienced woman, appropriately highly regarded locally, and gives me growing comfort and confidence with every encounter. My diagnosis of dementia is still under review. She and I had a lengthy session on it this week and are to meet with the local expert in two weeks’ time. I look forward to, even enjoy, these sessions. They continue to shore up my self-confidence and leave me eager for more, so, I no longer fear dementia, and have reason to believe I might ‘kick’ the potential entirely. My age ‘goal’ has long been to reach the ‘nineties,’ and I’ve just under two years to do that. However, now that Marge and I are together again, and she’s only 85, I may have to readjust my goal, don’t you think? Thanks kindly for responding, Bill and, again, `Happy Holidays' VDV All the best, Terry |

From: Emil Bizon Sent: October 21, 2023 1:45 PM To: Bill Lynn Subject: Re: CMR 1952 Mise à jour / Update 2023.10.21 Bill, this picture of a maple tree is one I see in my neighbor's yard as well. THese are now fairly common as nurseries are selling them at a good rate. They are not native to this part of the world although there is a Manitoba Maple, a kind of weed tree, that was widely planted in the past but has been avoided over the last thirty or forty years. Terry's message did not make itself available to me, at least. From: Gerry Wharton Sent: August 19, 2023 2:59 PM To: Bill Lynn Subject: Re: CMR 1952 Mise à jour / Update 2023.08.19 Bill…… Thanks for this but I am going to stick my Homecoming memories to last year’s. How are you managing? I have been somewhat casual in exercising my two artificial knees and after three weeks of walking my left hip is causing me considerable difficulty. I’m also scheduled for cataract surgery in a weeks time so it seems as though my systems are slowly closing down. …….Gerry |

From: Pierre Senecal Date: Mon, Jan 30, 2023 at 2:52 PM Subject: Hello Bill, I don't remember sending you notes about my somewhat terrible experience. It all started with my crash driving the bike into a ciment barrier. on 20 August 2022. The police and medical people got me into Civic hospital for a five week visit. September and October were visits to many clinics where my condition was good enough to undertake a revival and memory test. That is where Doris and I were lucky to have one of our daughter and husband looking after us and managing our future residence with all the trimmings, a senior residence was called for to carry on as best I could. We remained in Ottawa in the RIVERPATH Retirement Residence at 80 Landry St. Ottawa On. KiL0B4 Suite 818 Telephone remains the same at 613-244-3960 the Email: senecalpd99@gmail.com. And I am looking for the Golf season to open. Remains to arrange transportation at the Hylands and dinner to be available. Otherwise, life must go on. Should you have some spare limee I would appreciate a complete list of our ljst oh pioneer. |

From: Terry Jones Sent: January 24, 2023 1:55 PM Subject: Surgical Assessment Dear Family and Great Friends, The initial assessment for surgery to replace the aortic valve in my heart went quite well yesterday. I now wait until they decide if I’m a candidate for the arterial means of installing the new valve or open heart surgery. If they feel my age makes neither viable, they’ll just see me kept as comfortable as possible until the valve, and my heart, fail. At 87, I won’t be too surprised if this is my result. It’ll be disappointing, of course, but certainly not unrealistic, I’m sure. With my beloved Carolyn gone, I’m so very alone anyway … and am pretty sure it would be best for all concerned depending, of course, on how long it takes. Needless to say, I’ll let you know when I hear the surgical decision. Best regards, always, Terry |
